About Valery
Hello prospective students, please call me Valery. I am a recent grad with psychology degree from UCR. I have been tutoring with the learn to be foundation for 2 years with Kindergarteners to college students with diverse backgrounds, all across the nation, and those with learning difficulties like ADHD and ASD. I enjoy tutoring math because the student and I will accomplish the difficult problems together and feel more confident about our abilities together. If you don't know a question and don't why you need to do math, I gotcha. I can tutor in Geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus classes, or math questions on the SAT. I go at the students' speed, preferred learning method, and am able to send them notes and a recording of our session afterwards. I am also able to tutor Psychology classes and AP Psychology exams.

For my first session, I figure out the target subject or need (Geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus class, or SAT), meet their parents to verify what the kid needs and whether I can help them, get to know the student and family. If we are a good fit, ask them for current homework and tests if available. After the first session, I would create a lesson plan. For the second and following sessions, depending on what works best for them, on digital paper, I will: Go through a lesson, Write the steps in words, Guide them through an example with step by step and reasons for it, Test them through a problem, and Do variations problems of the example. Throughout the process, I will make sure to repeat the concepts and be patient in their learning speed. Lastly, when the session is over, I will send them the notes to them as visual pictures to revisit. I could also send them a recording of our session as well if they prefer videos.
