I coach students at different educational organisations, among which the Erasmus University Rotterdam and a high school in the Netherlands. My coaching method is practical and varied. I am enthusiastic, but also direct. I help with discipline, but I keep you responsible: what do you want to contribute to this world? What makes you happy?
- Are you stuck in what you want to do with your career?
- Or did you think you knew and now it turns out that it doesn't make you happy?
- Do you have burn-out symptoms and you don't know what to do with it?
- Have you set your eyes on a future but don't know how to get there?
When you decide to start a coaching program with me, the setup would look like this:
- An intake form: here you answer a number of questions so that we can immediately dive into your goals.
- An intake interview: we will discuss your form and I will ask you a number of questions. From there we will do a few starting exercises and then we will give substance to the future sessions together
- Follow-up sessions: we will discuss different aspects of your goal. I try to tackle every facet, not only by discussing it, but also by getting through to possibly impeding thoughts or emotions. Think of exercises that reveal behavioral patterns from childhood, but also exercises that help create a just-do-it mentality and that you are no longer inhibited by fears or excuses.
- In my approach I always try to create a growth mindset: a thought pattern in which you believe in "I can learn that" instead of "I can't"

Hij is behulpzaam en heeft me erg geholpen in een tijd waar ik echt moeite met wiskunde had. Na veel leren met Rik kan ik zelfstandig aan wiskunde werken.
Toen ik een bijles docent nodig had, kreeg ik Rick als docent om mij te helpen.
Rick is iemand die erg duidelijk en concreet kan uitleggen. Zijn manier van uitleg geven helpt mij de theorie in een ander perspectief te zien, wat mij erg helpt met vraagstukken waarbij veel inzicht nodig is. Zo laat hij bijvoorbeeld zijn gedachtegang zien door zijn hele idee te tekenen. Zijn tekeningen zijn met zijn uitleg erg duidelijk en als ik het niet begrijp, dan legt hij het uit op een andere manier totdat ik het wel begrijp.
Verder stuurt hij me handige video's waarin de theorie nog een keer wordt uitgelegd, zodat ik de theorie te horen krijg van iemand anders of hij stuurt de video's van te voren, zodat ik een betere basis heb tijdens wat we in de les gaan bespreken.
Hij probeert ook altijd even de les rustig te beginnen met een klein gesprekje, wat mij altijd helpt rustig te beginnen.
Ik raad Rick aan, omdat hij
creatief is wanneer hij iets uitlegt. Daardoor krijg ik veel meer inzicht voor m'n vraagstukken. Niet alleen omdat hij goed kan uitleggen, maar ook omdat hij een persoon is die erg gerelaxt is en dus fijn is om naar te luisteren.
Echte aanrader.I had the chance to work with Rick on a personal development course provided by Erasmus University during my master degree! He is a very friendly but also straight forward guy who looks at a problem and finds solutions. He helped me a lot with my job applications and with his contribution I managed to find the job that I wanted 3 months before the end of my master program!
