About Alex
I'm a UK born native speaker of English and I've taught the language to students at a range of levels from A1 up to C2, from age eight to adulthood. I'm from the city of York and I speak with a Standard Northern British accent, so I can help you finetune your pronunciation to sound more like a native. I am currently the IELTS coordinator for Manchester Language Centre in Kuala Lumpur and am highly experienced in IELTS preparation. I have taken many students from a level 3 up to a level 7+ and have a proven track record of student success.

Lessons are normally one hour long, but we can adjust to your preference. We can meet online via Zoom link at your chosen time. I have access to lesson packs for all kinds of language goals: Exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge Suite of Exams and others), general English and young learners. I'll make sure to choose lesson topics according to your personal interests and learning objectives. We'll also work on grammar, pronunciation, functional language (language for specific situations), the four key skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing) and you'll get LOTS of vocabulary training with flashcards! I normally give homework after each lesson, which will include vocab flashcards and sometimes a writing assignment or a worksheet. We can discuss how much you would like to receive each week.
