About Brenda
My name is Brenda Allen, I am an English teacher and I currently live in Barcelona Capital.
I have been teaching private English classes since 2015.
In 2016 I obtained the Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE) certification.
In 2017 I took the CELTA course (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at International House Barcelona.
I have more than four years of experience working in language academies. I have worked in 'ALE Kids' in Malaga and in 'Chaplin's Group' in Barcelona. I have been in charge of children's groups, teenagers and also adult groups of all levels from A1 to C1.
I have experience preparing students for official Cambridge exams (KET, PET, FCE) and Trinity oral exams (GESE levels 2, 3 and 4).
My teaching methods are varied and my study plans are adjusted to the level and age of the students. They are dynamic classes where priority is always given to the specific area to work on (speaking, listening, writing, grammar).
I also design intensive courses that are oriented to the work environment taking into account the needs and preferences of each person. We work on specific topics so that the student can develop fluently in English in their professional environment and have the necessary tools to be able to manage without difficulties in the language.
Currently I also give online classes through different platforms and applications such as Zoom, Whatsapp, Skype and Google Meet.

My teaching method is adapted to the level and age of each student, as well as the study times that are available. When teaching children I use many games and songs in order to capture the attention of the little ones. When teaching more adult groups or students, we apply English in everyday situations (at work, when traveling, eating out, etc.)
