About Joe
From my experience teaching English, I have loved interacting with my students from all over the world, getting to know them, and learning about their lives. I have found teaching to be incredibly rewarding for both myself and my students. Teaching English is not just teaching the language, it is also teaching a tool to encourage communication between cultures and I have loved all the interactions I have had with students. Being bilingual (English and Japanese), I particularly understand how complicated English can seem when compared to another language and I hope to bring that understanding into the classroom. I always strive to ensure that my students feel comfortable and that they find the lessons engaging.

I teach all levels of English (A1/A2, B1/B2, C1/C2) to all ages and will personalise each lesson to your level, your interests, and your motivations for learning English. Whether you want to find work, you want to communicate easier, or you just want to generally improve, I will teach the appropriate materials so that you can improve your English in the way that you want!
Each lesson will typically be 60-90 minutes (depending on your preference) and will have a focus on grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, or reading. The topic of the lesson will change every time and I will try to make each topic suit your interests so that you find the lessons fun and engaging.
I am a native English speaker and I have a CELTA qualification for teaching English. I have had many hours of experience teaching English to learners of almost all levels (A1 to B2). Using the teaching skills I have learned from the CELTA, I will strive provide you with the highest standard of English tuition.

Joe was an excellent tutor who not only concisely explained areas that I had been confused about but also expanded upon the work that had been taught at school. He helped me greatly throughout my year and without him, I wouldn't have gotten an A at Higher Physics.
Joe has greatly helped me improve my knowledge of astronomy, and I know he has also assisted students at the local school with their Higher Physics and Maths.
