About Kara
I will strive to help each student meet his/her goals, ranging from maximizing scores on standardized tests to learning to read. I was a National Merit Scholar and scored a 34 on the ACT. I am certified in Orton Gillingham reading intervention. I encourage students to take responsibility for practicing their skills outside of class and see the value of their learning in real-world applications. I will make the most of our tutoring session to ensure you are getting a valuable return on your time and money.

I love to make learning fun and memorable. I am results-driven and expect students to meet measurable goals. I have experience tutoring in the classroom setting and privately. I have worked with the gifted, those with disabilities, and English language learners. I taught second graders online full time in 2021 and developed strategies to keep them engaged through the computer screen.
