About Alex
I've been a teacher for nearly 10 years. Most of that time has been spent teaching high school English. I've taught 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade, AP & Honors, College Prep, Creative Writing, Poetry, and Journalism, so I am very comfortable understanding and teaching many different types of writing and reading. I've also taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade literacy 1-on-1, and developed and written curriculum that was approved by the University of California for dual-credit (college and high school). I love all things related to language, words, and literature, and I bring that excitement to tutoring sessions!

Tutoring tailored to each individual student. A typical session begins with reviewing your needs, then I'll guide you through a model or example, and then we'll spend the majority of the session practicing together until you've achieved the results you desire. In my 9+ years of teaching experience, I have come to believe that each student learns in their own way, and it's my job to meet students where they are.
