About A'Lease

I am a native English speaker from the USA and fully credentialed to teach multiple subjects with an ESL specialization. I hold a valid and current Teaching License. I have worked with English Learners aged 5-65 for more than 18 years in the U.S. public school system and abroad. I have extensive experience at the elementary, high school, university, and adult levels in six foreign countries. The experience I have includes ESL Coordinator, curriculum development, teacher training, SAT/TOEFL/ACT/SAT2 Subject Test preparation (History and Literature), ESL classroom teaching, and Academic Operations Manager. Additionally, I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching/Action Research from California State University, Fresno, USA.
I have served as the ESL Coordinator for an elementary school in Taiwan, the University of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, International Schools in China and the Barstow USD in California. I have taught ESL classes to adult learners for the Barstow USD in California and served as an ESL Teacher Trainer with the Ministry of Education in Malaysia. I was the Head Teacher/Coordinator for SAT Preparation at a high school in Taiyuan, China; the Academic Operations Manager for 25 franchise EF English First Centers across Indonesia. My most recent position was as the Academic Operations Manager for a private Test Preparation Center first in Hanoi and then in Ho Chi Minh City. Such teaching experience has afforded me the benefit of working with a broad diversity of students, staff, and administrators.
Teaching is more than a job for me; it is my lifelong profession and passion.
While not a native speaker, my Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) is considered to be nearly fluent. I have taken the California Bilingual Proficiency Exam and been a member of the California Association of Bilingual Educators (CABE) for more than a decade. I appreciate the dedication learning and performing in a second language requires. I have inexhaustible patience in working with English learners and non-native English speakers.

I also graduated from a California Teaching Credentialing Program - California State University, USA and hold teaching credentials in the states of California, Washington, Arizona, and Florida.
