About Kathryn
Along with my Social Studies Education Bachelor of Arts degree, I have a Master of Arts degree in History. Studying history is not only my profession but also my passion. The majority of what I read for pleasure is either historical fiction or nonfiction on historical events, time periods or figures.

I am a certified High School Social teacher. I have a Master's Degree in History from Wake Forest University. I have certifications in AP Psychology, AP US History and AP World History. I have taught Civics, American History, AP Psychology and AP World History. I have also tutored Wake Forest University student athletes in Sociology, Psychology, Ancient History, World Civilizations, US History and other courses. Additionally I have worked with student athletes on time management and organization.
In addition to teaching writing skills as a High School Social Studies teacher, I also helped Wake Forest University student athletes research and plan their papers. I edited their papers upon completion all in line with university and NCAA guidelines. As part of my Master's Degree in History, I composed an over 100 page thesis on Republican Motherhood in the South.
I enjoy helping students master the material and skills needed to be successful in their coursework. One of the students I tutored remarked on how good it felt to learn and understand the curriculum. I can assist students in becoming adept with the techniques assessed in AP courses and on the exams. Lastly helping students acquire better time management and organization is also very rewarding.
