About Ann
I am a dedicated educator with a deep commitment to the Fishers community, bringing a total of 10 years of experience within the same school district. For the past 4 years, I have served as a lead Kindergarten teacher, giving me a specialized understanding of the foundational skills children need to succeed as they begin their academic journeys.
Beyond my work in the classroom, I have spent 6 years providing one-on-one services to students, tailoring my approach to meet diverse learning needs and helping children overcome specific academic or developmental hurdles. My background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science from Ball State, an Associate’s in Child Development, and a 3.8 GPA from my Transition to Teach program at Marian University. This combination of classroom leadership and extensive individual support allows me to provide a tutoring experience that is both professional and deeply personalized. My goal is to use my decade of district experience to help your child feel confident, capable, and excited about learning.

A Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)
Every session is structured to maximize focus and retention for young minds:
The Warm-Up (5-10 mins): A quick check-in and a high-energy review game to activate prior knowledge and build rapport.
Targeted Skill Instruction (20 mins): Introduction of a new concept, such as CVC word blending or addition strategies, using visual and tactile tools.
Guided Practice (20 mins): We work through problems together. I provide immediate feedback and adjust my instruction based on how your child is responding.
The Cool Down and Wrap-Up (10 mins): A fun, low-stakes closing activity and a brief summary for parents on what was mastered.
