I am looking forward to working with students who need additional support in math from grades 6-12. I tailor my approach based on each student's individual needs. I assess their current understanding, strengths, and areas for improvement, then adjust the lessons accordingly. This might involve revisiting foundational concepts if there are gaps or advancing to more complex topics if they're already comfortable with the basics. I encourage students to actively participate in the learning process. This means not just watching me solve problems, but actively working through problems themselves while explaining their thought process. This interactive approach helps reinforce their learning and boosts confidence. For complex problems, I can help students break the process down into manageable parts, connecting to prior knowledge and rehearsing the most effective order of steps. I am comfortable providing additional resources when needed to support learning beyond our tutoring sessions.
