About Serina
I am a certified reading intervention tutor with over six years of experience supporting struggling readers in elementary, middle, and high school settings, both in person and online. I have worked extensively with students reading below grade level, providing structured, explicit instruction that targets fluency, vocabulary, decoding, and comprehension.

Each lesson is structured, supportive, and tailored to the student’s reading level and needs. Sessions begin with a brief preview of the text and key vocabulary, followed by guided reading using strategies such as echo reading and supported practice. Students then read independently while I provide targeted feedback.
Lessons also include explicit instruction in fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, along with regular progress monitoring to track growth and adjust instruction as needed. My goal is to help students build strong reading skills while gaining confidence and independence with increasingly complex texts.
