About Gretchen
I earned my credential to teach Spanish at the University of Missouri Kansas City in 1997. My first Spanish students were in the 7th and 8th grades. My first high school Spanish students enjoyed creating a board game, participating in a target language market, and performing Snow White in the target language. I have recently worked with high school students in a number of Oklahoma Public Schools as a distance learning Spanish teacher.

I like to involve my students in navigating real world situations which call into use vacubulary, structures, and culture addressed during instruction. Some examples might be role playing an experience moving through "customs" in a country abroad, drawing a house plan with appropriate accomodations for each room, or giving a weather report in the target language.
