About Benton
I have two years of teaching experience in a classroom, ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 8. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Education degree, so I know what it means to study hard! I also hold a Professional A Certificate, which qualifies me as a full-time, professional teacher in Saskatchewan.
I currently teach all subject areas in a middle years' classroom. My strengths are in teaching Math, Science, Writing, and Social Studies.
I also have 3 years of experience as an Educational Assistant, and have worked with students with a wide range of needs, adaptations, and learning styles to best help them succeed.
I also work as an Editorial Assistant, and have a strong attention to detail.

As a tutor, I practice much of what I do in my classroom each day - I strive to keep my students interested, engaged, and always asking questions through interactive and fun lessons!
I teach and practice valuable life skills during the teaching of subjects, so that the students I teach take something away from my lessons that they can use for the next grade and for life!
What sets me apart from other tutors is that I value your learning skills and style - not everyone learns the same way, and it's my responsibility to find what works for you! I will try new methods, different techniques, and various styles to see what works best for you.
My lessons typically start with a review of what we already know, what we would like to accomplish, and working on solutions together to build understanding and confidence. I provide a safe space for students to take risks, try new things, and succeed!
My ultimate goal is for students to develop independence - to realize that they have the skills and knowledge to problem solve and excel in school.
