About Amanda
I am currently on year five of teaching at the Middle School level. I am certified in Secondary English and Middle School Mathematics. I have taught various subjects over the last four years of teaching, which includes: English, Public Speaking & Debate, Computer Science, Mathematics 7 Extended, Reading Skills & Strategies, as well as a Career Course.

For English, the best way to approach is through authentic discussion. When reading, it's fun to have great dialogue with students, not only does it help with their understanding of the text, but it also develops their critical thinking of the text as well as keeps them engaged with the reading.
For Math, it's all about practicing! What is beautiful about math is that it's not a one size fits all, there are multiple ways of solving a problem. With lots of practice -- which includes the student teaching me how they will go about solving the problem -- students will have a better understanding of how to conquer math.
