About Nicole
Hello! My name is Nicole, and I’m a TEFL-certified native English tutor with over 25 years of experience in corporate management, HR, onboarding, and training. I’ve taught English to learners of all ages and backgrounds—from young children and teens, to professionals seeking growth or promotion, to adults preparing to immigrate or simply wanting to sharpen their skills. My oldest student is 81 years old! During my corporate career, I regularly assessed, rewrote, and implemented policies and procedures across both the corporate and hospitality industries. I trained staff on how these systems worked, ensuring they understood not just the what, but the why. Many of the teams I worked with were international or came from backgrounds where educational opportunities were limited, so I focused on making complex information clear and relevant—especially when these procedures impacted not just operations, but the safety of the staff and the organization. Because I am older, I bring a calm, steady, and patient approach to teaching. I know that we all learn differently and at our own pace. That’s why I take time to ensure you’re comfortable and confident in every lesson. If something doesn’t make sense, I’ll always stay and help you until it clicks. We move together, step by step, with no pressure. Yes, this is my job—but your success matters more. My most senior student is 81 years old, and my most junior is just learning to read—each with their own unique goals and reasons for learning. My Methodology: My teaching approach is personalized, student-focused, and goal-driven. I believe learning English should be practical, empowering, and relevant to real life. I adapt every lesson to your unique needs, whether you're working toward fluency, preparing for a job interview, tackling immigration requirements, or wanting to feel more confident in everyday conversations. Drawing on my extensive corporate experience, I specialize in simplifying complex concepts, supporting professional growth, and building strong communication skills. I’ve helped numerous professionals who are not native English speakers succeed in the workplace. My passion for teaching was born out of this very work—helping people understand what was expected of them, upskill with confidence, and feel empowered to grow. I was headhunted by the last three companies I worked for, which speaks to my strengths in guiding and uplifting others.
