About Andrea
I have considerable experience of teaching accounting and finance in Secondary, Further and Higher Education and have worked in the accounting profession (small firm (5 years) and PwC 3 years). I spent 3 years teaching GCSE and A level at a sixth form college; followed by 7 years at a College of Further Education teaching BTEC and professional accounting qualification courses (AAT and ACCA); followed by 11 years as Principal Lecturer at a UK University teaching a broad range of accounting and finance modules from entry to final/advanced level, undergraduate and postgraduate accounting specialist degree programmes, and to non-specialist other discipline students and on management and MBA programmes. This was followed 5 years as Deputy Head of Department of Accounting and Finance at a UK University (2009-2013). I then spent 5 years as Regional Director of an accounting professional association (2013-2017). I have had significant experience of teaching learner groups where English is a second or third language including teaching overseas. Accounting and finance can seem unfamiliar and difficult and so I take a student centred approach to tutoring for best results. Perfect! Best tutor for CFA 1
I started studying for my CFA level 1 with 0 knowledge in finance. Andrea made the subject easy to understand and I ended up enjoying it. She worked with me step by step and I felt very comfortable during our sessions because she worked with my pace and was very good in explaining difficult equations. Overall her teaching skills are great and she is a very nice person to work with. I can see that she has great passion for teaching and I was surprised by her vast knowledge in various finance and accounting subjects. She was able to tackle all the readings I had to finish despite their variety. Also her ability to come to my location made things very easy and convenient for me and she was always flexible with the time. I highly recommend her for any subject covered under CFA level 1 from finance, to accounting to economics and quants.

Andrea has been helping me for a while now, and I can definitely confirm I am more confident in my knowledge surrounding finance/accounting. She is very knowledgable and wise, and always offers her best advice to me. I have tried other tutors in the past, but Andrea has definitely been the best!
I worked with Andrea 1996 to 2013 at Kingston University where she taught Financial Accounting and Financial and Investment at both UG and PG level. Additionally I have worked with Andrea on various other projects including the ICAEW Business Advisory Programme and in Moscow on the the Kingston/Russian MBA. In all these twenty plus years I have found Andrea to be a very clear well focused teacher. She has a significant amount of experience a high degree of knowledge. Andrea is a very popular inspirational teacher.
