About Connor
I am currently completing my PhD in the field of chemical engineering at the University of Birmingham. I have been tutoring alongside my studies for 5 years, most recently working as a Teaching Associate in tutorial sessions for undergraduate and masters level chemical engineering at the university. I feel very lucky to have the time to continue teaching alongside my research as it is something I really love.
My basic services include support for the following:
- Science (general) up to GSCE level.
- KS2/3, GCSE, AS and A-Level Mathematics.
- Selected further mathematics AS and A-Level
- Chemistry AS and A-Level.
- Undergraduate/Masters level Chemical Engineering (Advanced transport phenomena, complex reaction engineering, mixing systems, plant design, process systems, rheology, thermodynamics, and more).
In particular I offer the following additional support:
- Personal statement, university/job application proof reading and advice.
- Undergraduate chemical engineering essay advice inc. lab reports, design project and research project.
- Support for adult/corporate learners.

I offer tailored lesson plans to focus on topics that a student may find particularly challenging. This can encompass general course content, pieces of homework or practice questions for those preparing for upcoming exams.
I also offer essay review sessions where I can give tips and offer assistance in structure, content and style. This also applies to CVs, personal statements and job applications.
I have always offered the first hour for free which enables me to build rapport with the student and understand how I could best tailor a lesson plan to suit their learning style. Generally, I like to approach problems systematically; taking a step back and breaking the problem down to help students to think logically when they are faced with a daunting question. In the past I have found that this approach pays off as it is highly beneficial in an exam situation.
