About NAVNITA

Teaching is a perfect amalgamation of knowledge, competence, zeal, and compassion. A strategic preparation and pursuit of knowledge is the foundation stone of effective teaching. A successful teacher is committed not only for improving the understanding level of the students but also grows as a better human being with each passing day. I believe that education is a two-way route where the student creates a punctual regime for the studies and the teacher creates an interactive atmosphere, engaging the student in the learning process, in and out of the classroom.
As a teacher, it is my job to stimulate and encourage thinking rather than to provide answers and resolve problems. Young minds always love challenges, so to inculcate learning in their schedule every time in my class I put on some challenging questions in front of the young brigade. Just a simple challenge with one sentence ‘Somehow the problem is brain storming and can be handled by only few brilliant ones’ can create the magic. In my class, every time I put on these challenging questions, I find students with bubbling energy coming out with brilliant ideas.
Being a chemistry teacher, I believe that the syllabus should be more conceptual rather than memorizing type. Relating each concept with day to day life can lead to better understanding of the subject. For example, teaching organometallic chemistry can be boring due the numerous equations but giving a gist of the role of the particular organometallic compound in our daily chores prior to teaching various equations related to it, will build up a curiosity in the students and thus enhances the urge to learn more. While teaching about cis platin I told my students how cancer spreads, some probable causes and how the cis platin act on cancerous cell, to my surprise next day more than 90% students were keen to learn more about Cis platin apart from collecting many information from the internet. I always encourage my students to perform practicals with more zeal as doing practicals with one’s own hand not only brings more knowledge for that subject but also clear up all the doubts. I always prefer to intricate the theory with more numbers of experiments thus making chemistry more lively and fascinating.
Teacher should also act as a preacher who can help their students to overcome their physical and mental barriers to move on from being average to the brilliant lot. In my class one of the students with average marks was very irregular in practicals as well as theory classes. However, once my appealing appreciation for his good experimental hands have made him work more cautiously and regularly in practicals. These nicely done experiments have cleared his theoretical concepts slowly as well and now he is among those who are running for the post of the topper.
As a teacher it is my moral responsibility to help building the career as well as the character of my student. Teaching chemistry gives both the flavor. For me students are also humans who love to be treated special and respected. Just a lovely smile of the teacher and modern audio visuals in classroom can do wonders.
I also believe the students learn from teachers so I always try to act as a role model to my students. Instead of teaching them good values, I myself follow these and seeing me doing these activities they just cannot resist doing it. For instance, every day I used to go to library, seeing this, my students also started visiting library regularly and now they are ardent readers. I am very punctual for taking classes and this has helped in inculcating punctuality and regularity in my students.
For me teaching is mere not a profession its worship where you give your 100% and your student’s success will make you feel 200% satisfied.

I teach in accordance with the need of the student. Depending on grasping knowledge of the students I modulate my way of teaching.

Generally I prefer one and half hour to two hours on alternate day of teaching. However I am flexible and can change accordingly to the need of the student.

I have done Ph. D in chemistry and have six years of bteaching experiences in various Schools, Colleges and Universities in USA and India. Now I have moved to UK and want to teach here as well.
Preferably, Lessons for High schooler and College graduates (I can teach any level though)
