About Tanya
I am Tanya Friesen, a second year bachelor of science student at the University of Manitoba. I am studying dentistry prerequisites at the moment, entailing biology, chemistry, physics, organic chemistry and biochemistry. I graduated from high school with the distinction honour in all sciences (above 90% in all). I would be honoured and more than happy to contribute to the success and deep understanding of any science related courses my students may need aid in!

Teaching methodology I use when strengthening my student’s understanding is repetition, visuals and practice quizzes. An example could be: I read over the section of notes/textbook our lesson is based on, ensuring my student takes note of the important details amongst the information. Afterward, I explain it to them in different words, and challenge them to explain the lesson back to me. I do this until they can effectively communicate the lesson’s contents back to me without error. I then challenge them with a set of practice questions I create related to the lesson. I believe what sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to approach learning from these 3 key effective angles; listening, watching, and doing. No student of mine will ever walk away from a lesson confused about the topic discussed.
My lessons are for high school science students, and first year undergraduate science students. I specialize in biology chemistry and organic chemistry, and can aid in basic physics and statistics.
