About Finn
My journey in chemistry began with a fascination for understanding the molecular world during my Master’s Degree in Chemistry. I became deeply curious about how substances react, why certain processes occur, and how knowledge of chemistry can explain natural and man-made phenomena. Over the past 8 years, I have guided numerous students in mastering chemistry concepts, fostering understanding, and nurturing curiosity.
I believe effective chemistry teaching combines clarity, structure, and relatable examples. My approach is patient and personalized, ensuring that each student grasps concepts at their own pace. I emphasize problem-solving, stepwise explanation, and linking theory to practical applications. Through regular practice and interactive discussions, students learn to approach chemistry with confidence and curiosity.
Outside of formal teaching, I continue reading about scientific developments, conducting simple experiments, and exploring chemical phenomena in everyday life. This helps me bring up-to-date and engaging examples to lessons. Teaching chemistry is immensely fulfilling because I see students transform from struggling with abstract formulas to understanding complex reactions, reasoning scientifically, and confidently solving problems. Witnessing their growth and curiosity is the most rewarding part of my work, and it inspires me to continue refining my methods and helping students develop long-term scientific thinking skills.

Chemistry becomes exciting and understandable when students can see how molecules interact and reactions occur in everyday life rather than just memorizing formulas. In my lessons, I focus on building clear conceptual understanding through step-by-step explanations and practical examples. We start with the basic building blocks such as atoms, molecules, and chemical bonds, using simple language to make these concepts relatable. Students learn to connect theory with real-world phenomena, which improves retention and deepens comprehension.
As lessons progress, I introduce more advanced topics like organic reactions, acids and bases, thermodynamics, and chemical equilibrium. Each concept is carefully explained with examples and problem-solving exercises. I include laboratory-based discussions and virtual demonstrations when possible, which help students visualize experiments and understand procedural reasoning. The structured approach ensures students build confidence in both theory and practical aspects.
Chemistry lessons also help students develop analytical thinking, observational skills, and problem-solving abilities. Learners gain confidence in tackling numerical problems, understanding experimental results, and reasoning logically. My aim is to make chemistry approachable, meaningful, and enjoyable while helping students develop the skills to succeed in exams and real-life applications. Through consistent practice and guidance, students gradually build competence, curiosity, and a strong understanding of chemical principles.
