About Tatum
My interest in chemistry started with a curiosity about how substances react and change. This led me to pursue a Master’s in Chemistry, where I developed a strong understanding of chemical principles. Over the past 9 years, I have taught students at different levels, helping them improve their understanding and confidence.
My teaching approach focuses on clarity and patience. I break down complex ideas into simple steps so students can understand easily. I use examples, practice exercises, and clear explanations to make learning effective. I also encourage students to ask questions and think independently.
Outside teaching, I continue to explore new developments in chemistry. This helps me keep my lessons updated and useful. Teaching chemistry is rewarding because I see students grow in confidence and understanding. My goal is to help every learner feel comfortable and capable in chemistry.

My chemistry lessons focus on making complex ideas simple and easy to understand. I begin with basic concepts such as atoms, molecules, and bonding, explaining them in a clear and structured way. I use simple examples and real-life situations to help students connect theory with practice. Each lesson is designed to build understanding step by step, allowing students to learn without feeling overwhelmed. I create a supportive environment where students can ask questions freely.
As students progress, I introduce topics such as chemical reactions, equations, and organic chemistry. I guide them through problem-solving techniques and help them understand how to apply formulas correctly. Practice is an important part of my lessons, and I provide exercises that improve accuracy and confidence. I also explain mistakes clearly so students can learn and improve.
Chemistry helps students develop analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Many students gain confidence as they understand the concepts clearly. My goal is to make chemistry simple, interesting, and easy to learn, helping students build strong foundations and succeed academically.
