About Briar
My fascination with chemistry started during my Bachelor’s in Chemistry and deepened during a Master’s in Organic Chemistry, where I studied reactions, molecular interactions, and laboratory techniques. Over 6 years of teaching, I have guided students through both fundamental and advanced chemistry topics, helping them gain confidence, clarity, and practical understanding. My approach emphasizes patience, structured explanation, and hands-on guidance, ensuring learners can progress at their own pace while mastering concepts thoroughly.
I design lessons to be interactive, combining explanations, examples, and guided exercises. Beginners build a strong conceptual foundation, while intermediate and advanced students are encouraged to explore mechanisms, experiment designs, and problem-solving strategies. I focus on fostering curiosity, analytical reasoning, and independent learning, allowing students to enjoy the process of discovery.
Outside teaching, I stay engaged in laboratory research, chemical literature, and practical experimentation, incorporating contemporary examples and applications into lessons. Watching students develop confidence, curiosity, and mastery—from understanding basic reactions to analyzing complex chemical phenomena—is profoundly fulfilling. I take pride in helping learners gain technical competence, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for chemistry, equipping them with skills applicable in academics, research, and everyday life.

Chemistry lessons become meaningful when students understand how substances interact and transform, shaping the world around them. My teaching covers atomic structures, chemical bonding, reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and practical laboratory skills. Lessons are designed to combine conceptual clarity with hands-on problem-solving, fostering both understanding and curiosity. I emphasize step-by-step explanations, guided exercises, and interactive examples to make abstract concepts approachable and engaging.
Intermediate learners explore multi-step reactions, molecular modeling, and experimental interpretation, while advanced students focus on synthesis planning, analytical techniques, and complex mechanism analysis. Each lesson includes exercises, examples, and problem-solving activities, helping students consolidate knowledge and develop confidence in applying chemistry to real-world contexts. Lessons also emphasize practical laboratory skills and safety, connecting theory with experimentation.
Chemistry lessons help students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and systematic problem-solving. Learners gain confidence in designing experiments, predicting outcomes, and analyzing chemical phenomena logically. Over time, students strengthen reasoning, curiosity, and independent learning abilities. My goal is to guide students toward mastery of chemistry concepts, enabling them to apply knowledge effectively, think critically, and enjoy exploring the science behind everyday phenomena.
