About Alexandre

I have a master's in chemical engineering from Queen's University. I am very good at teaching, and have good patience for university peeps and youngins. I understand mostly all concepts for university from first principles. This is a fancy word that means that I can create all of the equations from scratch and from understanding, etcetera, and I can apply the learning that you need to do with real-world examples. This is the most effective teaching, and you'll be able to understand where things come from and why you're doing it! The problem with most education is that it tries to teach you as if everything is isolated. Most teachers don't explain where things come from, or why you're doing it. This makes it impossible to learn things, because this is not how human brains work. In fact, I thought I was pretty dumb in elementary school and high school, because that is how my brain works and I literally can't function without doing it. However, since this is how they teach you when you're at the late stages of university and during graduate school, I thrived with minimal effort. I apply it to everything that I do now, and I am the smartest person that I know, and that other people know, because of it. As I said prior, the most effective way for humans to learn is to form connections with what they have already experienced, and to learn things from the ground up. I am exceptionally skilled at this and am firm on it; you will not find another tutor in Kingston that will push as hard as I will to make sure that you understand the how and the why. Almost all concepts are very easy: the teachers make them hard. I teach in a way that gives you understanding and control over concepts, such that you can use concepts such as the laws of thermodynamics or organic chemistry principles as tools to help you when you want to do things. They'll be at your aid, not something in any way that you dread. That's all, please give me a message and we'll see if we're a good fit! I know that the economy sucks right now, therefore, I've put my lessons at $20/hr. My philosophy is that good education shouldn't cost a lot; it's up to everyone to decide how hard they work and how they use the help that they're given, to find their own success.
