About Joseph
I'm a Colombian National Champion and The Americas Champion with over 14 years of experience. I'm a FIDE Candidate Master. When I was just 5 years old, my dad gave me a chessboard, and I immediately fell in love with the game. I have realized that chess helps you develop many important life skills, such as Decision Making, Self-Control, Memory, Rational Thinking, Focus, and Analysis. Most of my tutoring experience comes from teaching around 400 kids, but I have also helped many adults, including students over 80 years old. The first step is understanding what you want to learn or improve. Once I know that I will create a fun and personalized lesson plan just for you. I am patient and have loved teaching since I was a child. I've had the pleasure of teaching many people how to play and improve their chess skills. I am passionate about helping others and find great joy in teaching.

Improving at chess is a journey with many different challenges. Together, we will find a training plan that suits your goals. Along the way, chess will help you develop essential skills like Memory, Rational Thinking, Decision Making, Psychology, and Self-Control. This is especially life-changing for kids with the right methodology.
We can work on all aspects of Chess: Openings, Tactics, Endgames, Strategy, and Mentality! Improving at chess requires training in every aspect of the game, but we will prioritize certain areas depending on your level and experience.

Joseph is an excellent tutor! He keeps the student well engaged by asking multiple open questions and keeps the student challenged by inducing difficult puzzles into his lectures. He finds the students weaknesses as well and focuses on fixing those to improve the students game, and he plans lessons with according to the students tournaments and helps the student develop their skills.Perfect! Joseph is VERY knowledgable, and is able to teach what he knows in an effective way. His style is motivational, informal, and really helpful. My rating score on LiChess has improved by about 300 points since I started taking lessons with him. Well worth the time and money.

Joseph is a really passionate teacher! His lessons are not only helpful and interesting, but you also never want them to end!
Excellent teacher! He helped me learn how to solve the Rubik's cube without any problem. I got the beginner's method in a couple of weeks.
Joseph is a great teacher, he is very patient and has a great understanding of both basic and advanced chess strategies.
Joseph helped me learn some new algorithms of 3x3 rubik's cube. He is a good teacher.
Joseph will always use appropriate material for my level. He taught me how to play chess, and he gave some lessons that got me at the amateur level. He is a patient person, and I'd recommend taking his classes to anyone that wants to start.
