About Sienna
As a fourth-year Civil Engineering student at McMaster University, I have developed a strong foundation in math, problem-solving, and analytical thinking. I understand that math can feel challenging or intimidating, so I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
My goal as a tutor is to help students build confidence, improve their understanding, and develop stronger study habits. I am patient, organized, and professional, and I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs, whether they are reviewing class material, preparing for a test, or strengthening foundational skills.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques
My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and focused on helping students truly understand concepts instead of just memorizing steps. I break problems down clearly, use examples and visuals when helpful, and adapt my explanations to each student’s learning style.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on what the student is learning in class or struggling with. We then review the main concept, work through examples together, and move into guided practice. I finish by summarizing the key takeaways and suggesting areas to review.

As a fourth-year Civil Engineering student at McMaster University, I have a strong math background and experience applying math to real-world problems. I aim to make math feel less intimidating by creating a comfortable space for students to ask questions and build confidence.
