Ettore was recommended to our family by one of his friend from the Royal College of Music in London and it was a real pleasure to see him every week. Our 5 year old son wanted to start playing the guitare. Teaching such a young kid and a total beginner is not easy! Ettore was extremely friendly, patient and interesting. Il M° Ettore Marchi è stata la mia più gratificante scoperta in merito all'insegnamento della chitarra classica e della teoria e prassi musicale.
Dovendo affrontare il diploma in chitarra classica, ho inizialmente sfruttato le sue grandi conoscenze nel repertorio antico dal liuto alla chitarra barocca, per effettuare trascrizioni sempre più complesse delle intavolature per questi strumenti. Con sintesi e chiarezza mi ha portato a raggiungere in brevissimo tempo ottimi risultati, trasmettendomi anche elementi importanti della prassi stilistica del liuto e e della chitarra antica.
Infine mi ha donato anche la sua profonda esperienza sulla pratica chitarristica, fondamentale per approfondire musicalmente e tecnicamente un programma estremamente complesso e vario come quello del diploma di chitarra classica, dimostrando di avere mezzi e preziose conoscenze  anche sul periodo romantico, sul novecento e persino sulla contemporanea.

M ° Ettore Marchi was my most gratifying discovery regarding the teaching of classical guitar and musical theory and practice.
Having to face the diploma in classical guitar, I initially exploited his great knowledge in the ancient repertoire from the lute to the baroque guitar, to carry out increasingly complex transcriptions of the tablatures for these instruments. With synthesis and clarity he led me to achieve excellent results in a very short time, also transmitting important elements of the stylistic practice of the lute and the ancient guitar.
Finally, he also gave me his profound experience on guitar practice, essential for deepening musically and technically an extremely complex and varied program such as that of the classical guitar diploma, proving to have means and precious knowledge also on the romantic period, on the twentieth century and even on the Contemporary.

Ettore is an amazing guitar player and a great colleague from the Royal College of Music, where he specializes in a variety of early plucked instruments. After years of wishing for it, I finally decided to gift myself classical guitar classes and take my beloved instrument out of its case for good.

At first I was a little scared being an adult who’d lost most of her guitar playing skills years and years ago but Ettore made me feel totally at ease and -most importantly- extremely confident from the very first moment. He started off with the basics and took me through the whole classical guitar repertoire step by step.

Not only did I regain my lost skills, but I definitely improved them by far. Ettore did manage to figure out immediately the best way to make me do and understand everything and I never once felt that I couldn’t keep up with the programme: that’s what makes a great teacher!
