I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who who wants to help each individual student meet his or her specific music goals. Above all, I want music to be an enjoyable part of each of my students' lives, and to ensure that I provide the highest possible quality music education. I have both a BA in philosophy and a BM in piano performance from Bard Conservatory, and am currently pursuing my Masters in piano performance at UT Austin's Butler School of Music as a full scholarship recipient. I have also won 1st prize in several major piano competitions including the Brevard Music Center, Claudette Sorel, and Nazareth College Piano Competitions.
As a teacher, I have taught students as young as 6 and as old as 70 with levels ranging from complete beginner to advanced. I have 5 years of teaching experience and this past year, completed a one-year piano pedagogy course as part of my Masters program. I fundamentally believe in providing structured, helpful, and ultimately enjoyable piano lessons that give you the tools you need to do whatever you'd like to do with the piano, whether that's attending conservatory or learning pop songs by ear.
