About Ava
I currently work in a Chicago Public School as a Student Support Member whose main focus is one-on-one tutoring with below grade level individuals. Creating consistent lesson plans and individualized itineraries to suit each student's learning style. I am working towards continuing on the education path to get my masters to go towards full time teaching.

I have been trained in and have experience tutoring elementary school English and Language Arts. Specifically seeing maximum results using a gradual release learning model to not only explain thoroughly a concept to a student, but create a learning constant for them to understand and follow through with to get the most out of each lesson. Additionally, I have wonderful test taking strategies for all ages and grades, that create less stress when the time comes, and allows the knowledge one has learned to shine through in the expression of higher test scores. I graduated college with a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and Psychology, which has provided me good models to follow to create the most positive learning space for children of all ages and backgrounds.
