About Howard
Math is part of a five-year tutoring career during which I have taught 210 students of varying confidence levels. I open lessons with a short diagnostic question to see exactly where understanding breaks down before deciding what to teach next. Visual methods like number lines and diagrams support even algebraic topics, since most learners retain pictures better than symbols alone. Homework stays short but consistent, and I always review it before introducing new material. I track recurring mistakes in a running notebook and revisit them until they disappear. Timed practice increases gradually as exams approach, building genuine comfort with pressure well before it actually matters for the student.
