My teaching method is relaxed and focuses on understanding first, followed by repetition. This approach aims to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel at ease to make mistakes and learn at their own pace. Lesson Plan: Introduction to Simple Present Tense Objectives By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand and use the simple present tense in affirmative sentences. Lesson Outline 1. Warm up (10 minutes) - Start with a casual conversation, asking students about their daily routines. - Use simple language and encourage them to respond with short answers. 2. Introduction to present tense (15 minutes) - Introduce the simple present tense. Explain its use for habitual actions and general truths. - Provide examples: "I eat breakfast every day," "She works from 9 to 5." 3. Comprehension activities (15 minutes) - Provide sentences in the simple present tense and ask students to identify the verb. - Give a short reading passage that includes multiple examples of the simple present tense. Discuss it as a group to ensure understanding. 4. Controlled practice (10 minutes) - Hand out a gap-fill exercise where students fill in the blanks with the correct form of the verb in the simple present tense. - Go through the answers together, reinforcing the structure. 5. Repetition practice (10 minutes) - Engage in a short repetition exercise. Have students repeat sentences after me to practice pronunciation and structure. 6. Closing activities (10 minutes) - In pairs, students create their own sentences using the simple present tense based on their daily routines. - Each pair shares a few sentences with the class. Conclusion The classes are designed for beginners and intermediate learners. By prioritizing comprehension and a relaxed atmosphere, I aim to make learning English an enjoyable and fruitful experience. This method not only builds confidence but also fosters a deeper understanding of the language.
