At college and university, your written communication arrives in the room before you do. Your first assignment is the way your professor will form their first picture of you from the sea of hundreds; in your application for grad school, your statement of intent may be what gets you the interview and for internships and scholarships it is your application letter or essay that will make you stand out. This is why academic writing is important.
Many intelligent and talented students miss making a good impression because of poor sentence structure, disorganized ideas or bad grammar. I will help you fix this and learn to write better with my tutoring service.
In our tutoring sessions I will:
- Evaluate your current writing level
- Highlight the areas you need to work on from the structure of the ideas in your paper to the grammar and mechanics of your writing
- Work through one to two target area in each session
- Give practice in this target area
- Work with you on improving your assignment in this area.
With this approach you will improve the assignment you are working on and know how to make your writing better for the next one.
