About Amani
As a tutor, my goal is to guide students into believing in themselves and their abilities. My work is my passion, and I aspire to help as many students as possible exceed in their line of study. The teaching methods I use motivate students, not belittle them for having a harder time grasping certain subjects. As a teacher, I will take studying as slowly as the student needs me to confirm they understand what they’re learning. Everyone learns at different paces and that’s something I am willing to accommodate! I reassure you, my future student, that my mission focuses entirely on you. Throughout high school, I have spent 40+ hours tutoring students in my district. I have lots of academic experience and I work well with others; I believe everyone has the potential to be great in any subject. I am flexible with how a student likes to learn, for example I use whiteboards, Google suite, demonstrations, practice problems, and many other forms of teaching to help my students understand the material. Typically, a lesson plan consists of introducing or reintroducing the concept through images, videos, and practical examples, I would the perform some of these exercises in two or more different ways to figure out what works best for my student. Following that step, I would encourage the student to try these exercises with me and then by themselves. Once they are finished, I would go over the problem thoroughly to be sure the student understands how they got the right or wrong answer and now to get to the correct place. My target tutees would include students between the grades 5 and 12 who struggle in mathematics and sciences, specifically with applying these concepts to examples.
