About Stephen
I have always had a place in my heart for math and science, and being able to share that with others would be a wonderful experience. I'm an outgoing, friendly individual who takes great pride in helping people overcome their personal struggles; be it academic, mental, or otherwise, supporting someone and watching achieve their goals is a magical thing.
I graduated college recently with a 3.8 GPA and a degree in Biology, and my lowest score regarding Biology, Physics or Chemistry was a B, with all other grades being As or higher. I have an affinity for science, and utilize personalized tutoring to make sure every student gets the proper help they deserve.

I am sure we are all aware that if you were to ask a random person their least favorite subject, it would likely be math, physics, or something related. But, in my experience, that is simply because not many people understand the process of learning such challenging concepts. To me, that is what makes it so special - I learned in college that you cannot be afraid of the confusion of a new chapter or material, and have to keep pushing until it suddenly "clicks." To me, that feeling is wonderful, and I wish to share that with others who are struggling in mathematics on any level, from basic arithmetic to multi-variable calculus. Similarly, I would love to help individuals that need a boost in physics, chemistry, or some related focus. I have tutored multiple subjects in the past via websites and personal referrals, and I love the challenge of it; figuring out what works best for an individual is a great feeling, and it is even better to watch the improvement of those you are helping. I hope that, through tutoring, I will be able to help others while showing them how math, physics, and chemistry can be a beautiful thing.

I wouldn't have gotten through multivariable calc without Stephen's help! In the beginning of my course, I struggled with math anxiety and never knew how to start solving problems. Stephen helped me overcome my hesitation by working through tons of problems with me and by showing me the similarities between various problem types. I can't thank him enough!
He really takes the time to tutor to your specific needs. I'm learning disabled, and Steven was able to take the time needed to thoroughly explain various concepts. I highly recommend Steven, for STEM courses especially.
Stephen has helped me with organic chemistry when we were both in college. He didn't charge me anything and seemed genuinely excited when he realized I was starting to get it. My first lesson is free so we can get a chance to know each other, and figure out the best course of action moving forward for your development. I also have tutoring packs marked at a discount rate so you can save money if you wish to hire me long term. I do have a transportation fee of $5 for any traveling on my end, but there is a $1 discount for online sessions, and an $11 flat rate for lessons scheduled in/near my home. The traveling expense varies on location, but I am usually very flexible in that regard.
If you cancel within 24 hours of the session, you will only receive a 50% refund.
