About Zach
I've been a lecturer here in Maine for two years. I also was a home-school teacher for a seventh grade boy for a year before that. I try to find topics that my students are interested in and build scientific concepts and theories into that interest.

I am currently an Assistant Lecturer in Biology and Marine Science at the University of New England. I have a Master's degree in Marine Science and have a Bachelor's degree in Biology. My thesis project studyied the interactions between seaweeds and shellfish in the Gulf of Maine. I'm now a teacher because I fell in love with science later in life and want to help make biology and other STEM fields interesting and approachable to the next generation.
