About Mark
I enjoy my students and am passionate about helping them learn the mathematics. One of my primary goals is to help them enjoy it rather than dread math class. My students always provide feedback that they look forward to my lessons even if they are not "math" people.
I have a PhD in Systems Modeling and Analysis with a concentration in Pure Mathematics. My research in in partial differential equations and fluid dynamics. Don't let that scare you!

I am constantly honing my teaching skills and working to incorporate new methods that work best for learners. A typical lesson would consist of the learner providing questions or problems and information about what is stumping them. We will work to identify if the issue is with the current material or pre-requisite knowledge. Then we will tackle the issue and work to master the material. I am very approachable and adept at explaining mathematics to a wide variety of audiences in a way that allows them to understand.
