About Derick
Everyday I read in English for pleasure, be it poetry, philosophy or a novel, and I have a natural love of words. I have studied, worked and lived in many places in Europe as well as the US and have lots of first hand experience of how language use and learning differs in one's first and second languages. Beyond the grammar and vocabulary it is also the way in which a language is used and so the confidence from knowing it is used correctly is fundamental to success. There are many strategies to choose from to enhance the learning experience and once you connect with the right one for you, progress is assured.

The core of my teaching is based off communicative methods whereby the brains natural capacity to absorb language is harnessed through authentic and naturally stimulating lessons.
Class content is determined by students interests and needs and nothing is learned by rote.
A typical lesson lasts 50 minutes and assignments and comprehensive study plans can be included
Fully qualified English tutor worked with Cambridge English, Berlitz, Business English Schools as well as working 1-to-1 with both company directors and employees.
