About Zakiyyah
Hi! My name is Zakiyyah, and I’m currently a sophomore in college majoring in Early Childhood Education. Teaching and helping others learn has always been something I care deeply about, and working at a daycare has given me daily experience supporting young learners, building patience, and understanding how children grow and communicate. Outside of school and teaching, I’m a big reader — I especially love romance novels because they’re comforting and fun to escape into. My favorite color is green, and I think it reflects my personality well: calm, warm, and always growing. I’m also the youngest in my family, which has shaped me into someone who is caring, observant, and able to connect easily with others. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio but I go to school in Toledo, Ohio. One of my long-term dreams is to teach English in Thailand. This goal inspires me to bring cultural awareness, kindness, and curiosity into everything I do as a tutor. I want every student I work with to feel supported, respected, and confident in their learning journey. Choosing to learn with me means learning with someone patient, encouraging, and truly passionate about helping others succeed.

As a tutor, I focus on creating an environment where every learner feels supported, understood, and excited to grow. I use techniques from my Early Childhood Education studies to make English learning clear, engaging, and approachable for students of all backgrounds. My teaching is patient, culturally aware, and centered around building confidence one step at a time. There will be a daily routine on how we go through lessons and apply these lessons to everyday life.
