About Milinaire
Dedicated Educator & Literacy Advocate
With a collegiate background in early childhood education and years of hands-on experience as a homeschooling mother, I offer a unique perspective on foundational learning. My career is built on the belief that every child deserves high-quality, ethical, and effective instruction. I don't just teach children how to recognize letters; I help them decode the world around them with confidence and clarity.
Why trust me with your child's education?
My professional journey is defined by a commitment to academic integrity and a deep understanding of developmental milestones. I bring a rigorous, research-based approach to reading, literacy, and spelling, ensuring that my methods align with the highest educational standards. I have a proven track record of identifying learning gaps and creating custom-tailored solutions that help students thrive where they previously struggled.
My Commitment to You
I understand that inviting a tutor into your child’s life requires immense trust. I pride myself on my professionalism, my transparent communication with parents, and my unwavering focus on the student's best interests. As an educator who has navigated both formal and home-based learning environments, I am a fierce advocate for my students’ progress. I am here to provide the structured, patient, and expert guidance your child needs to reach their full potential.

My Teaching Approach: The "Home & Heart" Method
I believe that literacy is the foundation of all future learning. As a collegiate-credentialed early childhood educator and a homeschooling mother, I combine formal pedagogical theories with the practical, flexible techniques used in a home-learning environment.
My Techniques
The Science of Reading: I use a structured literacy approach, focusing on phonological awareness, decoding, and fluency.
Multi-Sensory Learning: We don't just look at letters; we use movement, sound, and tactile tools to make spelling and reading "stick."
Confidence Building: I focus on "scaffolding"—giving students enough support to succeed without doing the work for them, which builds genuine self-esteem.
A Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)
Every child is different, but a standard session usually follows this flow:
The Warm-Up (5 mins): A quick "brain game" or phonemic awareness drill to get into the learning mindset.
The Deep Dive (20 mins): Explicit instruction on a new concept (e.g., a specific vowel team, a spelling rule, or a decoding strategy).
Applied Practice (20 mins): We apply the new skill through shared reading or interactive spelling activities.
The Wrap-Up (10 mins): A fun literacy game or a "victory lap" where the student shows off what they mastered today.
Parent Debrief (5 mins): I provide a quick update on progress and a small "at-home" tip.
What Sets Me Apart
I bring a level of advocacy and integrity to my teaching that is rare. Having successfully navigated the complexities of both the formal education system and homeschooling, I know how to spot where a child is falling through the cracks. I don't just "tutor"; I partner with families to ensure their child is receiving high-standard, ethical, and effective instruction.
