About Taylor
I recently graduated from from a 4-year college where I swam on the swim team for 4 years. Previous to that, I swam competitively for 11 years. In addition, I volunteered as an assistant swim coach for 4 years and was the head coach of my local summer swim team for 3 years. Overall, I have 7 years of experience giving private and group swim lessons. I have worked with individuals ranging from 2-18 years old and have worked with skills ranging from a fear of water to competitive high school swimmers. I also have experience teaching swimming to individuals with special needs and I am currently in graduate school for speech-language pathology, so I have a great deal of exposure to individuals with various needs and abilities.

My teaching style varies depending on the level of the swimmer and the student's learning style.
For individuals learning to swim, becoming comfortable and confident in the water is the primary goal. The focus for these individuals should be on the basics of swimming and developing a safe and natural way to move througout the water.
For more advanced individuals, technique of different strokes is introduced. I always start at the basics of body posture in the water. From there, different techniques will be practiced repetitively outside of the water to develop a correct motor pattern of the movement.
Suggestions for ways to practice at home will be provided when necessary for any level of swimmer! Perfect practice makes perfect!
