About Mikhail
I am Mika and am a graduate student at Columbia University, currently completing my third and final year of architecture master's.
I am a native French speaker and a polyglot (English, French, Romanian, Arabic, Moroccan Darija) as a result of my international background, before coming to the US more than seven years ago for my architectural training, I was living between Morocco and France and spent most of my pre-college years in the French education system.
I have decided to pursue this activity after I experienced being tutored by other students from my high school years, to my college applications, and then throughout college and graduate school.
Concurrently with my studies, I have been working as a college application tutor for French language universities across Europe, Canada, and North Africa for the last seven years. Being a student while helping other people and children learn is an incredible experience I found to be mutually enriching.

I have more than seven years of experience in French college application tutoring, as well as French language tutoring from middle school to undergraduate levels.
The key approach in my sessions is to learn together rather than to teach:
As a student, I realize the importance of learning with, through, and from your peers. As a native French speaker who speaks four other languages, I understand language learning as an immersive process rather than a set of applicable rules one learns.
Regardless of your level, the sessions will consist of closely calibrated curriculums that will cater to your personal needs; from language learning through an immersion in the language and culture to more structured curriculums that will cater to clear goals such as college applications, DELF or DALF examinations etc.
