About Jon
Hello! My name is Jon, and teaching is not only a job for me, but one of my biggest life passions. After graduating with honors and a double major of Media and Cultural Studies and French/Francophone studies from Macalester College, I went on to earn my MFA in Screenwriting and Directing at Columbia University in New York. I am currently preparing to go back to school to become a lawyer and public defender. Since graduating from undergrad, I've taught at the high school, college, and graduate levels with a diverse student body. I look forward to working with students of all ages, skill levels, and neurodivergencies.
My teaching style can best be described as direct, empathetic, and engaging. I'm a big proponent of breaking things down into small, manageable pieces and "conquering" them to build your confidence and knowledge quickly.
