About Petru
Education has been my passion for a long, long time. I have had the opportunity to work on many different facets of the educational process in a variety of scenarios. I have extensive experience with one-on-one tutoring across various subjects -- from math to essay writing and fiction writing. Recently, I've diversified my skillset by teaching first-order symbolic logic classes at Baruch and aesthetics at the School of Visual Arts. When I was in college, I was designing logic curricula for high schoolers that got picked up by institutions across the globe.
I have tried to gather all of this experience with the aim of becoming a better mentor for students, someone who can help them see their subjects of study as excitedly as I do. Throughout my teaching, stimulating curiosity and excitement is my primary goal and my most meaningful reward.
Beyond my teaching, I spend much of my time playing guitar (mostly jazz and funk), painting miniatures, watching horror films, and reading.

My lessons always start from my students' current goals and needs, be they homework prep for high school and college classes, AP prep, or SAT prep. My approach is student-focused: when I take on a new student, I talk to them to set up goals for our work together. I offer a wide variety of classes, covering material from high school precalc, honors program curricula, and AP calc to higher math courses in college (Honors Math, Calc, Modern Algebra etc.)
