About Anahi
I am a student at Columbia University, completing my bachelor’s degree in political science at Columbia’s College of Arts and Sciences, as well as working on my master’s degree in International Affairs at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). I am a New Yorker and an Argentine-American. Spanish is my first language, and the only language spoken at my home. I have worked in both Argentina and the United States. I love to read in both English and Spanish. While I usually read fiction, I also enjoy reading personal essays, histories, and biographies. Some of my favorite authors are Jane Austen, L.M. Montgomery, Louisa May Alcott, Ocean Vuong, and Madeline Miller.

My English and Spanish lessons are designed for speakers of any age, proficiency level, and experience. Depending on the student’s proficiency and experience with the language, my lesson plans would change. For beginners, I focus on pronunciation, basic writing and reading skills, as well as holding basic conversations. I tailor my lessons to my student’s interests and hobbies, in order to keep them focused and entertained. For students with more experience, I tend towards a more immersive approach. Depending on the student’s proficiency level, I am willing to make clarifications in English, but I believe that the best way to learn a language is by practicing it. For students proficient in the language they choose to learn, I will place a strong emphasis on reading comprehension, essay writing, speech writing, and capacity to hold high-level discussions.
