About Ruiqi (Kevin)
I am an experienced and passionate chess player who competed in multiple high school tournaments such as the Interschool Chess Challenge and the Metropolitan Chess Challenge. I enjoy teaching chess to others and am committed to helping students grow in both strategic thinking and confidence through the game.

My chess lessons are structured, supportive, and personalized to suit each student’s learning style and goals. As a competitive chess player with extensive tournament experience, I focus on building strong foundations in opening principles, tactics, calculation, and strategic thinking. Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, combining clear instruction, guided practice, and interactive problem-solving. I encourage students to think aloud, analyze their games, and develop confidence through step-by-step improvement. My coaching is ideal for any beginner to intermediate players, whether they are learning chess for the first time or aiming to improve for tournament competition.
