Chris is an excellent teacher and fantastic musician. He is able to distill concepts to simplest form in order for me to understand. We also worked on things I was interested in like jazz and electronic modular music. He was able to show me how to translate the music theory I learned from him in to the music I was inserted in. He is also very creative and down to earth. Great guy, awesome teacher.

Chris isn’t just incredibly knowledgeable, he’s also empathetic, patient, and genuinely kind. He’s an awesome hang as a teacher. Whenever I felt confused, he took the time to make sure I really understood the topic and always made me feel like my questions mattered.

Chris is on time, well prepared, and very pleasant to work with! He has made learning music much less of a chore and much more of a thing I am excited about every week. Additionally, he is very flexible and adapts the lesson plans to your individual goals. If you want very strict music theory, he can do that. If you have a musical idea you want to develop, he’s happy to spend the lesson working to develop it further!

Chris is an impeccable teacher when it comes to music theory, composition, and orchestration. He has taught me directly about arranging music for orchestra, and is able to clearly break down the reasons for making specific choices as a composer/orchestrator. He also explains both basic and more advanced music theory concepts with such passion and love for the subject, and clarity, that it becomes impossible not to learn from him. I highly recommend Chris - he is an incredible musician and teacher!
