About Larry
Hi, I’m Larry! I’m a Computer Science professor and former VP of Engineering with over 20 years of real-world software development and teaching experience. I help students truly understand programming — not just memorize syntax — so they can feel confident solving problems on their own. I teach subjects like C++, C#, Java, Python, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Software Engineering, and I work with a wide range of learners: college students, high school students, bootcamp grads, career changers, and self-taught programmers. Whether you’re struggling with assignments, preparing for exams, or getting ready for technical interviews, I adapt my explanations to your level and learning style. My approach is patient, practical, and hands-on. We’ll walk through problems step by step, debug code together, and connect concepts to real-world examples so they actually make sense. My goal is to help you build real confidence — not just get through one assignment. If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, you don’t have to do it alone. I’d be happy to help you move forward.

My teaching approach is focused on clear explanations and building real understanding. I break concepts down step by step, encourage questions, and create a relaxed environment where it’s okay to be confused and learn at your own pace.
A typical lesson starts with identifying exactly where you’re stuck or what you want to work on. We then use live coding, debugging, or guided problem-solving to walk through the material together, focusing on why things work, not just what to type.
What sets me apart is my background as both a Computer Science professor and former VP of Engineering, which allows me to connect academic concepts to real-world software development. I work with high school and college students, beginners, career changers, and self-taught programmers in subjects like C++, C#, Java, Python, Data Structures, and Software Engineering.
