About Joel
Canadian born and raised in Texas. I have my BA in music from the University of Houston.
I encourage my students to check out local music, and try to get them to perform in different settings. As much as I like the traditional piano recital setting, sometimes it's more enjoyable and less intimidating if you're playing for fun, for friends, or for family.
As a music director for a church, I've had to figure out different methods to teach my choir to sing, read music, and in parts, and I do it all with a lot of patience and grace. I like to crack jokes as well, so we will have fun in our lessons! :D
Also, I'm a tenor in a chamber choir in the heart of Houston, I love music and it's been a huge part of my life. I hope to make it yours as well!
I can offer 30-60 minute classes, as many or as little times a week through Zoom, Google Meet, Whatsapp, or Facetime.

I've taught piano online and in person. I teach according to the RCT and ABRSM standards. I'm fluent in all genres of music from classical to jazz to Bollywood!
I try different methods and ways to make music fun! Also, I tailor the lessons to fit your needs and goals.
