About ALLYSIA
I have been teaching since I was a young student myself. When I was eight years old I taught my cousin who was also my age to read. He was having a hard time learning so I decided to help him. When I was in college I was asked to tutor my fellow classmates. I have always enjoyed assisting others and it’s the right and responsible thing to do. I believe in treating others as I’d like to be treated.
I am very interested in encouraging students to be the best version of themselves. We can all put forth our best effort whatever that is. I require that of myself and I try very intently to influence my students to do the same. Each of us is unique. I teach in a way that allows each student to realize their individuality and to embrace it. I would like each of them to love who they are. If one possesses self confidence and a healthy love of self it renders them unconquerable. They can get ahead in life. The total reason for teaching is to empower students to have the tools to achieve a good and successful life.

I enjoy encouraging students to grow their vocabularies. Every learned word presents a visual in one’s memory. I prompt students to creatively illustrate the meaning of the words they have learned and are learning. These words can be expressed through drawing pictures, writing and telling stories. We can elaborate more by creating and singing songs or create scripts for plays using our words.
Building a large vocabulary can be fun and it is also impressive to others that are listening to us. Every single word has multiple meanings. Once a student realizes this it opens up a wide range of expression. It’s exciting when this happens. Learning becomes fun and therefore easier.
