About Dominique
I am an accomplished singer and artist from South Africa. I have 11 years of musical experience. This includes music theory, vocal techniques, contemporary, classical, and opera. I am reasonably new to teaching as I have recently completed my teacher's qualification. My singing lessons include vocal warm-up exercises, technique training as well as time for you to showcase your favorite songs. Just to give you an idea of the kind of quality we will achieve from our lessons, I have linked a YouTube video of me singing with my beautiful co-singer and friend where I played as the Beast for O.A.K Youth Theatre's Beauty and the Beast.

I base my teaching method on the one passed down to me by my teacher and mentor Benjamin Botha. In our lessons, we have a vocal warm-up of about 20minutes. Thereafter we work on technique, of-course this works better in person as we can fix small problems on the spot. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he has shown me how online teaching is still a very good and practical possibility for teaching new and advanced students. For the remainder of our lessons, we sing what I want to sing and work on perfecting the sound so that we can use the songs to enter competitions and Istedfords. I do not offer the possibility of doing exams as of yet but hope to have that up and running within the next year.

I have had several lessons from Dominique and I can honestly state that he is one, if not the best tutor I have ever had. He's professional, patient, understanding, and all-around a swell guy.
He is always on time. He explained things in a way I could understand. He didn't judge me and help me build up from the level I am. In other words he notice where your level is and helps you build up and he shaw potential in me that I didn't even notice, when I struggle he goes through it again and again until I understand. Definitely gave me a lot of confidence, I didn't think I had anything to offer.
Dominique is a talented, versatile and well-trained vocalist, with qualifications from RSM and TCL. He is passionate about all things musical. I have no doubt that he will strive to inspire his students with his love of music and will pass on his knowledge in a supportive and caring way.
